Teachers at St. Michael’s provide remedial classes to meet the needs of students with difficulties in various subjects. From the beginning, each student is given the chance to attend individual remedial classes to improve their skills. These classes usually take place in the afternoon. Qualified senior students, who have reached a high advanced level in a specific subject, can also become a tutor.
In the eighth, ninth and tenth grade the teachers hold lessons in which the students with a lower level of ability, also called deficits, take part. These lessons replace one subject of their regular time table during the entire grade and want to ensure that all pupils make the grade at the end of the school year.
Students without a deficit in grades eight and nine can take part in extension programs, for instance to obtain a language certificate.
